On this Pesach eve, the holiday that symbolizes, more than anything liberation from slavery to freedom, we would like to share with you our activities, accomplishments and challenges.
In our 2 centers, in Haifa and Tiberius, we continue our efforts to free our 150 children from their handicap and ensure a happy and meaningful future for them.
In our Tiberius center
The renovation is completed. Our 30 infants and children are enjoying an upgraded and well equipped daycare and an amazing outdoor play area with the best facilities.
In our Haifa Center
In the recent year, Micha Haifa participated in a pilot of the Ministry of Welfare. The program, named “containing Intervention” aims at achieving an optimal behavioral and emotional climate in the infants’ day cares. The pilot has been a success and its implementation had a significant impact on both infants and staff.
Today, the program in implemented in many day cares in Israel.
Also, in 2016 the Ministry of Education awarded Micha Haifa the Rachel Metuki prize for excellence in Education for the Haifa District.
We continue giving the children and their parents the tools to overcome their hearing impairment, to speak, communicate, integrate successfully in the regular education system and become productive members of the Israeli society.
Our highly professional and experienced staff operates special programs for the child, including speech therapy, audiology, occupational therapy, art & music therapy. The parents receive counselling by social workers and a psychologist, support groups and a sign language course.
We are proud of our achievements!
95% of our children successfully enter the regular school system when they reach school-going age. Our achievements are made possible thanks to the support of people like you, our friends and loyal partners.
